Tenth baby dolphin for Dolphin Academy’s ninth anniversary

Tenth baby dolphin

Willemstad, May 26, 2011 – Curaçao Dolphin Academy and Curaçao Sea Aquarium are very pleased and proud to announce that the dolphin family is expanded with the birth of a baby dolphin. Exactly nine years ago, the dolphin facility in Curaçao was founded and in that period a total of ten

healthy dolphin babies were welcomed. With this birth, the Sea Aquarium Park, where Dolphin Academy is located, has had fertile years. Dolphin Bonnie gave birth to a healthy daughter on April 12 around 12:45 PM. Mother and daughter are doing fine. The baby has her first month of life well spent, so now it’s time to name the little girl. Its survival odds are increasing as the first year of baby dolphin’s life is always a challenging period.

Name
Dolphin Academy is now looking for a suitable name for the little dolphin, and therefore calls everyone to suggest names with by filling in the baby name card and send it to info@dolphin-academy.com or via Facebook (www.facebook.com/dolphinacademycuracao), Twitter (www.twitter.com/dolphinacademy) and Hyves (dolphinacademynv.hyves.nl). Dolphin Academy will reward the best and most beautiful name with a spectacular prize: a special family education afternoon including a Dolphin Encounter for the whole family. The only requirement is that it should be a girl’s name and should have something to do with Curaçao. Names can be sent until Wednesday, June 8. On Thursday, June 9, the winning name will be announced. All submissions are welcome!

Family experience
The dolphin facility wants to commemorate its ninth birthday and celebrate the tenth dolphin baby in a big way and does that by announcing a special feature. Dolphins are social animals, family is important to both man and dolphins and therefore Dolphin Academy wants to offer the lucky winner a memorable family experience with mother Bonnie and baby.
